This month saw the 82nd anniversary of Operation Aquatint – In the early hours of the 12th/13th September 1942, a small group of allied commandos landed on Omaha beach. Discovered by a German patrol a firefight ensued & sadly 3 of the raiding party would be killed. All three were subsequently buried by the German military in the nearby church graveyard of St Laurent.
